What is the difference between VEKA Therm-70, Therm-76, and Therm-82 Passive?

The three systems differ in profile depth and thermal performance. Therm-70 (70mm, 5-chamber, Uw ~1.1 W/m²K) is our entry-level system — it already outperforms any standard US window. Therm-76 (76mm, 6-chamber, Uw ~0.92 W/m²K) is our most popular choice for American homes, offering excellent energy performance and a wide color range. Therm-82 Passive (82mm, 7-chamber, Uw 0.73 W/m²K) is our Passive House-certified system, designed for cold climates and net-zero projects.

Are VEKA uPVC windows energy efficient enough for US climate zones?

Yes. All three VEKA systems we offer significantly exceed US energy code requirements (IECC 2021 requires a maximum of 1.7 W/m²K). The Therm-70 achieves ~1.1 W/m²K, the Therm-76 ~0.92 W/m²K, and the Therm-82 Passive 0.73 W/m²K — 40–55% better than the code minimum. For states with stricter requirements like Massachusetts (Stretch Energy Code) or Connecticut (IECC 2021), all our systems remain fully compliant.

How long do VEKA uPVC windows last?

VEKA uPVC profiles are rated for a 40+ year service life under normal conditions. The profiles are stabilized against UV degradation and will not warp, rot, or corrode. The EPDM rubber seals are replaceable if needed after 20–25 years. The multi-point locking hardware is rated for 100,000+ open/close cycles. This longevity compares favorably with wood windows (10–20 year realistic life before major maintenance) and aluminum-clad wood systems.

What colors are available for VEKA uPVC windows?

VEKA profiles are available in a wide range of laminate foil finishes applied to a white or dark core. Standard options include White, Cream White, Agate Grey, Anthracite Grey, Black, and a range of wood-grain finishes (Golden Oak, Dark Oak, Mahogany, Walnut). Custom RAL colors are available on request. The exterior and interior colors can be specified independently for most configurations.

What configurations are available in uPVC?

Our VEKA uPVC range covers: tilt & turn windows (the most common configuration), fixed windows, top-hung and side-hung casements, entry doors (single and double), fixed sidelight and transom combinations, lift & slide patio doors, tilt & slide doors, and bi-fold door systems. Custom shapes including arched tops and trapezoid openings are available on request.

Yes. We provide full technical brochures, spec sheets, and U-value documentation free of charge.
